The Gallery Tearooms

The Hole in The Wall 

One size doesn’t fit all! The 19th century Hole In The Wall pub offers Traditional English in three different sizes. The classic comes with one rasher of grilled bacon, one pork sausage, one fried egg, one hash brown, beans, grilled half tomato and toast while the ‘Large’ version comes with two bacon rashers, two sausages, two eggs, two hash browns, beans, a half tomato and flat mushroom.

Then there’s The ‘Mega’, sporting an additional serving of bacon, sausage, egg and hash brown. It’s one of the biggest breakfasts in town! Vegetarian is available in classic and large. A full breakfast menu is served until noon, with a traditional cooked breakfast available all day until 8pm.

The Market Buffet

This popular café – which has been serving generations of Salopians for some 50 years in the Market Hall – is known for its all-day, value-for-money traditional breakfast. There are veggie and vegan versions too. Ingredients are sourced from the butchers and greengrocers within the market itself.

The original all-day breakfast includes two rashers of bacon, two sausages, egg and beans or tomato, bread and butter and tea or coffee. A jumbo breakfast comes with extra ingredients of hash browns, mushrooms and a larger hot drink.

The vegetarian breakfast is served with vegetarian sausages, mushrooms, eggs, beans or tomato, bread and butter while the vegan breakfast includes vegan sausage, avocado, beans, tomato and hash brown. Find the café on the gallery level of the indoor market.

The Ploughboy

A traditional café that has been going for yonks. The Ploughboy serves not one, but two versions of a Full English.

Its traditional offering comprises of two bacon, two sausages, egg, and a choice of beans, tomato or mushrooms, while an all-day version comes with added hash browns and black pudding. If you don’t have time to eat in, the café can rustle up a takeaway.

The St Nicholas full English is a serving of grilled bacon and sausage, handmade and cured by a local Shrewsbury butcher, fried egg, Heinz beans, buttered mushrooms, baked tomato, hash brown and toast. Vegetables are sourced locally and bread is freshly delivered by Swifts artisan bakery.
